A pavilion concept and architect's office design developed for a bluff on the edge of Santa Maria which overlooks the west coast and agricultural fields. These designs explore passive solar heating and cooling, with thick massing and spaces submerged into the hillside. Low visual street impact yet dynamic cliff profiles define the style of both of these projects. The projects were presented by physical model and hand-rendered schematic floor plans, elevations, and vignettes on vellum.
