Vertivineyard - An Urban Winery for Downtown SLO
This project proposes development of an urban winery and vineyard located in Downtown San Luis Obispo. The design concept looks to vertical farming as inspiration and uses engineered wood frames spanning from pedestrian level up over the retail, office, and industrial programmed spaces. These frames are installed to act as vine support structures, training grapes to cover the building and provide shade to a central performance space, set in from the street and down in a concave grass communal yard, adjacent to a basement wine storage and tasting facility. Plans, renderings, and digital graphics created with SketchUp and post-processed with Photoshop.
